Project Support Specialist – Manufacturing Science & Technology

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Project Support Specialist to join its Engineering function, focusing on manufacturing science and technology. The role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies to improve quality, cost, and efficiency across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complex tasks and contribute to advanced projects using technical expertise.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production.
• Conduct manufacturing research and development to address cost and quality issues.
• Perform technical feasibility tests and evaluate project capacity for process design.
• Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures and evaluate processes to reduce costs.
• Arrange equipment and tools, select vendors, and ensure timely, budget‑compliant delivery.
• Collaborate with R&D, commercial, and quality functions.
• Design manufacturing drawings for efficient layout and guide product design engineering on specifications.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and Good Practice standards.
• Assist with product configuration management, software validations, SAP material setup, drawing tasks, change controls, and Bill of Materials/Router maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Advanced technical knowledge and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to make significant decisions within the project area.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and vendors.
