Project Manager III

About the role

Puget Sound Energy's Customer & System Projects team is hiring a Project Manager III in Bothell, WA, to manage scope, schedule and budget for a project or portfolio of projects with minimal supervision, carrying medium risk and financial impact. Projects may involve multiple agencies, private sector businesses and special interest groups, and may include new construction, upgrades and modifications of electric distribution and transmission systems, substations, gas pipelines and district regulators, as well as new generation facilities. Work arrangements are discussed in detail during the interview.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, define scope and set realistic plans and timelines
• Manage the customer relationship as primary point of contact, identifying needs and sharing alternatives
• Develop contractor statements of work, bid documents and estimates, and advocate PSE's operational objectives to minimize costs and change orders
• Identify technical issues and risks, and ensure compliance with codes, standards and design, operation and maintenance requirements
• Manage schedule and budget development, management and forecasting
• Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences, including in public settings
• Support emergency response work as requested

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least six years of relevant experience, including managing simple to medium complexity projects
• Experience with budgeting, procurement and contract administration
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Desired: utility project management experience, PMI or construction management certification, and a degree in project management, construction management, electrical, mechanical or civil engineering
