Pole Transfer Project Manager I

About the role

Puget Sound Energy is hiring a Pole Transfer Project Manager I for its New Product Development team, working remotely and hybrid (Washington-based). The role directs and manages joint use communication line transfers and stub pole removals when a distribution and/or transmission pole is replaced, damaged or removed, under the guidance of a senior project manager. It involves coordinating with internal and external customers and departments such as Engineering, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting, System Planning and Energy Resources.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate resources, lead multi-disciplinary project teams and define project scope and deadlines
• Process Joint Facility Notification (JFN) and Yellow Cards, and perform permit and TCP creation and submission
• Lead programs such as the One Touch Make Ready and Double Pole Blitz programs
• Facilitate stub pole removal across the service territory and coordinate contractors and consultants
• Create and update job work orders, project documentation, equipment records and data
• Support emergency response and restoration work, and report project progress

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
• At least two years of relevant work experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork ability
• Basic knowledge of scheduling, estimating, accounting and finance principles
• Safety-sensitive position with pre-employment drug screening

Desired qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
• Experience managing small projects or programs
• Project management certification (e.g., PMI)
• Knowledge of utility budgeting, procurement and contract administration
