Project Manager – Fire Alarm Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and oversee fire‑alarm projects from design through close‑out, acting as the primary liaison with contractors, owners, and regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Review shop drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and standards to determine proper installation methods.
• Generate proposals for change orders, RFIs, ASIs, and MCRs and communicate approved items.
• Determine labor needs, prepare schedules, track changes, and ensure alignment with project budgets.
• Order and track materials, equipment, tools, and other items required for the contract.
• Monitor overall project progress, maintain job records, and conduct weekly reviews with the Fire Alarm Manager.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SFP procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Meet with AHJs, contractors, owners, architects, and other design professionals to discuss project status.
• Assist support staff with close‑out documentation, O&Ms, and as‑built drawing verification.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience, preferably leading multiple projects.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong basic/advanced math skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to comply with drug‑and‑alcohol policy and background screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• NICET III ITM Water‑based systems (preferred).
• NICET Level IV Fire Alarm certification (preferred).
