Project Manager / Financial Analyst

About the role

Next Generation, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Manager / Financial Analyst to support the People Tower’s Budget Planning & Administration team in New York. This hybrid position combines project management with financial analysis to align HR budgeting, oversee non‑labor expenditures, and drive strategic financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage budget requisitions for the People Tower department.
• Reconcile and process vendor invoices, perform forecasting, and support financial planning.
• Partner with Accounts Payable and procurement to ensure timely vendor payments.
• Clean and optimize general ledger coding for non‑labor expense categories.
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable related to DCAS and inter‑agency chargebacks.
• Manage the Employee Activity Fund Account and related HR financial processes.
• Prepare and distribute monthly KPI and budget performance reports to senior HR leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in finance, budget planning, and oversight.
• Hands‑on experience managing full budget plans and financial operations.
• Familiarity with public‑sector procurement and requisition processes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• PeopleSoft FSCM (including reporting functionality).
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
