Project Buyer – Long‑Term Contract

About the role

The Project Buyer will support Airbus Commercial Aircraft’s North America General Procurement team in Mobile, AL, ensuring full visibility of contractual, spend, and schedule data for ongoing tendering projects. This role bridges tendering activities with operational ordering, helping to meet schedule and savings targets.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate procurement transactions, ensuring compliance with General Procurement procedures and commodity strategies.
• Maintain contract storage and data availability in SAP, Click & Source, and Click n Buy.
• Prepare spend data analysis for tendering projects, support “Local for Local” and “Global for Local” procurement activities, and drive sourcing projects.
• Escalate risks and blockages to senior directors, negotiate contract terms, and report savings.
• Provide leadership and coaching to less‑experienced team members and act as a procurement‑process expert.

Required profile

• Five or more years of procurement experience with increasing authority.
• Strong project management, finance, operations, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing or quality‑focused environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field; relevant certifications desirable.
• Fluency in English; additional languages (French, German, Spanish) a plus.
