About the role
The Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) at the University of Miami is looking for a Programmer 1 to support the Future Realities Research Lab. This temporary, part‑time position will focus on creating and modifying immersive virtual experiences over a twelve‑month period.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and update virtual experiences for the Future Realities Research Lab.
- Create or integrate 3D models and assets as requested.
- Collaborate regularly with lab contacts to gather feedback and translate vision into functional VR applications.
- Maintain clear documentation of development processes and workflows.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- At least one year of experience in virtual reality development and uploading custom content to the STEAM platform.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Unity game engine.
- Experience with STEAM and other VR platforms.
- Knowledge of VR interaction and movement metaphors.
- Ability to work with 3D models and integrate them into virtual environments.
