Professional Health Coordinator / EAP Counselor

About the role

The Professional Health Coordinator/EAP Counselor provides assessment, case management, short‑term counseling, and support for mandatory and voluntary caregivers within Cleveland Clinic’s Employee Assistance Program. The role works on‑site at Bath Health and Wellness and occasionally at Mercy, delivering confidential services to healthcare professionals facing substance use, mental health, or cognitive concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, and manage cases for mandatory participants, including licensed healthcare professionals with suspected impairment.
• Provide short‑term counseling and supportive services to voluntary participants.
• Consult with hospital leadership on performance issues linked to personal problems.
• Promote the EAP program through presentations and relationship building with key personnel.
• Collaborate with senior Caring for Caregivers leadership and relevant health committees on critical cases.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with departmental standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a behavioral science.
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
• Minimum five years of direct clinical experience, including chemical dependency and psychiatric diagnoses.
• Case management and assessment experience.
