Certified Athletic Trainer – PRN

About the role

The Certified Athletic Trainer (PRN) will support the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Bath Health and Wellness Center, providing medical‑focused athletic training across multiple locations on an as‑needed basis.

Key responsibilities

• Recognize, manage, and rehabilitate injuries for professional, amateur, and recreational athletes.
• Provide injury‑prevention techniques and prepare athletes for practice or competition.
• Maintain medical files, act as liaison between physician and athlete, and implement treatment plans under physician supervision.
• Perform comprehensive health maintenance reviews, document visits, and assist with data collection in a clinical setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Completion of an athletic training program accredited by CAEP.
• Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) from NATBOC.
• State licensure as an Athletic Trainer if required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Risk management and injury‑prevention knowledge.
• Understanding of pathology and acute care of injuries and illnesses.
• Nutrition and rehabilitative practice expertise.
• Ability to develop conditioning programs for injured and non‑injured athletes.
