About the role

The University Counseling Center at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a Professional Counselor I or II to provide a full continuum of psychological services, focusing on crisis intervention, triage assessment, and substance‑use screening.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver brief individual counseling, group sessions, and psycho‑educational workshops.
• Conduct crisis and triage assessments, de‑escalate emergencies, and coordinate referrals to higher levels of care.
• Develop and present outreach programs on mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol‑and‑drug issues.
• Coordinate specialized programs (e.g., recovery programming) and supervise master’s‑level practicum trainees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Current Texas licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW or LPC‑Associate) with required post‑licensure experience.
• Experience in brief/solution‑focused therapy, crisis intervention, and substance‑use assessment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records systems.
• Experience using telemental health platforms.
