Production Supervisor - Liquids Production (Second Shift)

About the role

Givaudan is hiring a Production Supervisor for its East Hanover site in the USA, responsible for supervising the areas directly linked to liquids production, including compounding, replenishment, automated systems, bulk storage and dispensing. The supervisor ensures safe, quality and timely production, organizes staff and material flow, trains staff and summarizes shift activities. This is a second-shift position reporting to the Production Process Manager, with a salary range of $90,000-$98,000 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Group Leaders and hourly staff to ensure timely production of liquid compounds, organize staff and material flow and assist the scheduler with prioritizing shop orders.
• Oversee replenishment and material movement, direct dispensing and processing, monitor batch yields and investigate production delays.
• Work with QC to resolve manufacturing or material problems, adjust finished compounds to quality specifications and investigate non-conformances and customer complaints.
• Maintain accurate production and inventory records, coordinate with the warehouse for on-time material delivery and train staff to identify and correct problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, industrial hygiene and GMP standards, coordinate waste removal and train staff in safety and standard operating procedures.
• Develop staff through cross-training, enforce work rules and attendance, and monitor performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of work experience in compounding.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in flavors manufacturing.
• College degree preferred.
• Knowledge of flavor industry raw materials, finished goods and hazardous materials.
• Experience leading in a union environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong PC skills and working knowledge of computerized inventory control systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
