Production Scientist

About the role

The Vaccine Production Scientist will work at Bimeda’s San Angelo site, supporting AquaTactics’ growth by overseeing quality‑control and manufacturing activities for autogenous and licensed aquaculture vaccines.

Key responsibilities

• Support production of bacterin and viral cultures for aquaculture vaccines.
• Maintain accurate production and vaccine batching records.
• Schedule production based on inputs from clients, sales, and veterinarians.
• Coordinate timely shipments with the customer service team.
• Ensure raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards using in‑vivo and in‑vitro testing.
• Analyze data, generate reports, and assist with investigations of field actions and deviations.
• Liaise with other vaccine sites in the US and overseas to share knowledge.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, validation protocols, and GxP documentation.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while maintaining databases.
• Identify out‑of‑specification results, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive CAPA initiatives.
