Production Operator - Tire Manufacturing

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Manufacturing Professional/Operator in Lexington, SC, to run the equipment that makes its products in an industrial plant. The role is hourly-paid and requires rotating 12-hour shifts in a 7-day-24-hour operation. Starting pay is $24.29, with an additional $2.00 per hour once rotating 12-hour shifts begins. A successful assessment covering Win or WorkKeys and soft skills is required.

Key responsibilities

• Operate industrial equipment to manufacture tire components and final products while meeting safety, quality and productivity standards.
• Inspect and verify the quality of production such as rubber mixes, rubber/metal components and tires/tracks.
• Implement and uphold the environmental management system and other work standards.
• Contribute to or lead problem resolution and continuous improvement in Safety, Machine, Quality, Delivery or Cost areas.
• Take part in on-the-job and formal training to develop new skills.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in an industrial environment with rotating 12-hour shifts, using PPE such as safety shoes, glasses and hearing protection.
• Proven ability to follow safety and quality procedures.
• Ability to learn machinery mechanics and use tools.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy in previous work.
• Teamwork, cooperation and transparency.
