Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a Production Operator to join its manufacturing team in Murphy, NC. The role involves assembling electromechanical products, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring final motor assemblies meet performance specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble rotor, stator, and motor sub‑assemblies using manufacturing documentation and tooling.
• Operate machine strippers, hand tools, and mold transfer presses to prepare and finish components.
• Install lead‑wire pin connectors, apply varnish, glue, and potting compounds to stator and rotor assemblies.
• Attach heat sinks to circuit boards and complete final motor/drive assembly.
• Test motor performance against specifications and package finished units.
• Load and monitor automated machinery and perform cross‑training on all production operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Mechanical aptitude with good hand dexterity, color vision, and ability to lift 20 lb frequently and up to 40 lb occasionally.
• Willingness to stand or sit for long periods, climb, stoop, kneel, and work overtime, including Saturdays.

Required skills

• Soldering (or ability to become certified).
• Machine stripping and lead‑wire pin connector installation.
• Operation of stator potting mixers, mold transfer presses, and heat‑sink attachment.
• Application of varnish, glue/activator, and potting compounds.
• Automated machinery monitoring and motor assembly.
• Motor performance testing.
