Production Manager - Cable Assembly Facility

About the role

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is looking for a Production Manager for its Leominster, MA cable assembly facility. The manager leads daily manufacturing operations for the assembly and test teams, from material preparation through shipment, and oversees Production Supervisors and Production Controls (planning, scheduling and materials) to ensure on-time delivery, high quality and efficient operations. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, four ten-hour shifts with overtime as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead warehouse and production operations, covering safety, quality, people and operational excellence, and keep the site meeting GCG standards
• Develop talent, train staff and lead onboarding of key employees
• Improve footprint, layout, equipment, workforce and inventory; lead transitions and major projects
• Promote Lean principles such as 5S, Daily Management and Kaizen, and keep the facility organized and clean
• Lead, coach and develop Production Supervisors and production staff
• Design and implement continuous improvement processes
• Manage production scheduling, capacity planning and work order release, allocate resources and run performance reviews
• Work with supply chain to ensure material availability and coordinate training (production procedures, forklift, OSHA and ISO 9001)
• Run daily production audits and monthly ISO quality audits, track and resolve customer quality issues, and report facility metrics

Required profile

• 5+ years of manufacturing management experience, with a focus on team development and continuous improvement
• Experience with cable or cable harness assemblies preferred
• Experience with production planning and scheduling
• Strong supervisory skills and ability to motivate teams
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend and lift 50 lbs regularly

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP and other supply chain systems
• Microsoft Office and general business communication tools
• Basic math skills
