Cold Brew Machine Operator

About the role

Stumptown Coffee is hiring a Cold Brew Machine Operator in Portland, reporting to the Cold Brew Operations Manager. The operator keeps the cold brew production running smoothly, covering the brew-to-package process, material handling, quality checks and machine operation so that every package meets the company's quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Brew the cold brew through raw material preparation, brewing, vessel transfers, filtration, final dilution and packaging preparation.
• Operate and manage the Wild Goose Can line (filler, seamer, case former, case taper) with efficient runs and consistent package integrity.
• Run and document Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out-of-Place (COP) procedures and follow GMPs, SOPs and safety protocols.
• Keep accurate production logs, batch records and test results, and check fill levels, nitrogen levels, seams and seals during the run.
• Set up machines and change over between cold brew varieties, and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
• Handle chemicals safely, model ergonomic lifting, and support the team with material handling and time management.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a beverage or food manufacturing environment.
• Passion for coffee and alignment with Stumptown's quality standards.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation and product consistency, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and to adapt to changing production needs.
• Physical: frequently lifts up to 60 pounds, stands and walks for long periods, and works in a noisy, variable-temperature environment.
• Schedule flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
