Product Design Engineer

About the role

The Product Design Engineer will lead projects of varying size and complexity, using advanced simulation tools and hands‑on testing to solve technically challenging problems. You will collaborate across product management, engineering design, manufacturing, and sales to improve existing designs and create solutions for emerging global market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate work with an international team of designers and simulation engineers, including the Bangalore Design Center.
• Collaborate with internal and contract manufacturers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Design and develop new products using advanced modeling tools and engineering principles.
• Support VAVE activities for existing product lines and use findings for new product development.
• Create detailed CAD/CAE models, engineering drawings, and simulation analyses (FEA, CFD) to predict performance.
• Interface with product managers, applications engineers, manufacturing engineers, and purchasing throughout all development phases.
• Generate design manuals, technical documentation, and comprehensive project plans with cost estimates.
• Develop, test, and approve prototypes, ensuring compliance with quality and design‑control processes.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical design theory and practical application.
• Knowledge of ASME B16.34 standards and related engineering codes.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, global teams.
• Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and data‑driven design decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD (Computer‑Aided Design) tools.
• Proficiency with CAE (Computer‑Aided Engineering) tools.
• Experience using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations.
• Experience using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations.
