Producer/Host - Villanova Radio Station

About the role

iHeartMedia is hiring a Broadcast Producer for its Villanova station (WDAS-AM) in the Philadelphia area. The producer helps plan and produce live and pre-recorded radio shows covering news, music, talk, sports, traffic and features, and also anchors halftime recaps for Villanova play-by-play. The position is part-time and paid hourly.

Key responsibilities

• Generate original ideas, encourage ideation from others and carry out thorough research
• Research information, gather materials and help contact and schedule guests
• Give direction to presenters, content providers, assistants and other crew members
• Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of resources
• Obtain permissions or licenses for on-location recording or broadcasting, and for the use of music, sound effects and audio archive material
• Monitor listener emails and inquiries related to the shows
• Collaborate with presenters and performers to run quality assurance against production standards
• Use broadcasting technology such as soundboards and editing/production software
• Schedule and monitor the radio stream during live recordings
• Help with time-keeping, saving recordings, archiving files and post-production editing as directed

Required profile

• Creative mindset and excellent writing and storytelling skills, able to adapt content for different audiences and platforms
• Knowledge of the radio market, station styles and audience demographics
• Ability to build rapport, pitch ideas to senior colleagues and work calmly under pressure
• Planning, prioritization and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
• Full knowledge of radio production laws, rules and regulations, including when clearances and licenses are needed

Required skills

• Experience with recording equipment and operating a radio studio
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and social media platforms
