Procurement Manager

About the role

Forever Cheese is seeking a hands‑on Procurement Manager to lead its purchasing operations and supplier management in New York. The role will guide a small team, drive strategic sourcing, and support the rollout of new AI‑driven procurement tools as the company expands its specialty food portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of three procurement professionals.
• Manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Adopt and champion RELEX, the AI procurement platform, across the team.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations and leadership to forecast needs and flag potential stock‑out or spoilage risks.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Create and track KPIs related to purchasing, inventory, supplier performance and cost reduction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field.
• 3+ years of procurement or supply‑chain experience (5–10 years overall work experience).
• Proven leadership experience managing direct reports.
• Fluency in English and bilingual ability in Italian and/or Spanish (Italian preferred).
• Experience with ERP systems and willingness to learn E21 and RELEX.
• Exposure to AI‑powered business tools and process automation.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., E21).
• Knowledge of RELEX AI procurement technology.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

• Total target compensation ranging from $125,000 to $165,000 per year.
