Procurement Contract Manager

About the role

MassMutual is looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead and manage complex commercial agreements within its Procurement team. The role is full-time and based in Boston or Springfield, Massachusetts, and involves overseeing several projects at once, negotiating and drafting contract terms and working with legal, IT and enterprise risk to deliver compliant outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the business drivers behind assigned transactions and develop an execution plan
• Act as the central point of contact for each contract, ensuring deals are negotiated and executed on schedule
• Work with line of business, legal, compliance and data security groups to assess transaction-specific risks
• Draft and redline contracts, assessing the impact of deviations from standards
• Negotiate with suppliers to produce contracts that meet MassMutual's contracting standards and business objectives
• Plan and adjust negotiation strategy as circumstances change
• Collaborate with the wider Procurement team and propose improvements to streamline contracting processes

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of professional corporate work experience
• 3+ years reviewing, negotiating and analyzing business agreements, commercial documents, policies, procurement activities or similar transactions
• Ideal: experience drafting and redlining contracts, managing supplier/vendor relationships, and familiarity with CLM systems and contract governance

• Salary range of $88,300-$115,900
