About the role

The PRN RN will provide direct nursing care in the Pre‑Op and Post‑Anesthesia Care Units at South Pointe Hospital’s Surgery Center. This is a variable‑shift, as‑needed position supporting a Magnet‑recognized facility.

Key responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments, obtain vital signs, and monitor patient conditions.
Insert IVs, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and document care.
Implement, monitor, and update patient care plans in collaboration with physicians.
Coordinate discharge planning and communicate patient status to the care team.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program with current RN licensure.
Minimum one year of Pre‑Op/PACU experience (external candidates need two years RN experience).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Ability to work 48 hours within a six‑week period on variable shifts.

Required skills

IV insertion and medication administration.
Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring.
Knowledge of BLS and ACLS protocols.
