PRN Registered Nurse – Neonatal ICU

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking PRN Registered Nurses to work in its Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This 17‑bed unit provides care for newborns with the most complex medical needs and supports high‑risk pregnancies, including fetal surgeries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation of conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Develop, implement, and update patient care plans in accordance with evidence‑based practice.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate discharge planning.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ASN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Minimum one year of acute care RN experience; external applicants need two years of recent related experience.
• Successful completion of pre‑screen competency assessments.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required for critical‑care areas).
• Ability to administer medications and perform complex clinical procedures.
