PRN Radiation Therapist – Indian River Hospital

About the role

The PRN Radiation Therapist provides therapeutic radiation treatments to cancer patients at Indian River Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Health System facility on Florida’s Treasure Coast. This position works on an as‑needed basis, supporting the radiation oncology team with state‑of‑the‑art technology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy to patients in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists.
• Position patients accurately and select appropriate anatomic/technical parameters.
• Operate and adjust linear accelerator equipment and verify treatment settings.
• Monitor and document patient condition, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Educate patients according to department protocols and maintain treatment records.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CAHEA‑approved School of Radiation Therapy or ARRT‑certified Registered Radiation Therapist.
• Current state licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in radiation oncology and familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Ability to perform physical duties such as walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lb and pushing/pulling over 100 lb.

Required skills

• External Radiation Therapy techniques including IMRT and IGRT.
• CT Simulation for treatment planning.
• Operation of linear accelerator equipment.
• Use of radiation oncology software and electronic medical record systems.
