About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a PRN Patient Care Nurse Assistant to support the 8th floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit at Euclid Hospital. This position works night shifts on an as‑needed basis, providing basic patient care under RN supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist patients with vital signs, weight, personal care, activities of daily living, and patient transfers.
  • Perform pulse oximetry, point‑of‑care testing, dressing changes, apply monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the RN.
  • Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross within the new‑hire period.
  • Ability to work 48 hours within a six‑week period, including one summer and one winter holiday.
  • Physical ability to lift patients and perform medium‑work tasks.

Required skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
