PRN Paramedic – Emergency Department

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital Emergency Department as a PRN Paramedic, providing advanced life support and emergency care to patients. This position works evening and night shifts with flexibility for additional coverage as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize urgent medical needs under RN supervision.
• Obtain and record vital signs, perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and saline locks.
• Notify RN/physician of rhythm changes and assist with orthopedic appliances, splints, and crutch training.
• Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, lumbar puncture, restraints, patient transport, and specimen handling.
• Maintain confidentiality, perform fluid/drug administration, and support sterile procedures.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited EMS‑Paramedic training program.
• Current Ohio EMTP licensure.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) and PALS certification (AHA or Red Cross) – either at hire or within one year.
• Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic program.
