About the role

Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, is hiring a Manager Support Services for its Environmental Services, Textiles/Linen and/or Patient Transport department. The manager plans, directs and oversees daily operations, leads and supervises staff through orientation, training, coaching and mentoring, and implements operational goals aligned with clinical and non-clinical units. The position is a day shift, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Implement short- and long-term goals consistent with the assigned department's objectives.
• Manage quality assurance and performance improvement activities and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Provide direct supervision, run performance management programs and evaluate and mentor team members regularly.
• Help develop programs for the professional growth of staff, and increase efficiency and effectiveness while reducing expenses.
• Build systems to attract, develop, engage and retain talent, and coordinate work plans with other departments.
• Monitor and control the departmental budget (capital, operating and construction) and review equipment and material inventory, initiating purchase requisitions.
• Hold areas accountable for operational and business goals and recommend and implement process improvements.

Required profile

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience as a work leader, team lead or supervisor in a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: healthcare experience.
• Physical demands include a high degree of dexterity, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking; standard precautions and PPE are required.
