Medical Technologist / MLT / Lab Technician – Night Shift

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital seeks a night‑shift Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician to perform and interpret laboratory tests of all complexity levels. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art pathology department, supporting high‑quality patient care for Lake County residents.

Key responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, adhere to quality‑control policies, and document instrument calibrations and maintenance.
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and address any quality‑control issues promptly.
• Maintain instruments according to manufacturer specifications and ensure clear, legible documentation.
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance or results, notifying supervisors as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA qualifications for high‑complexity testing personnel (grandfathering clause). Transcripts must be provided and verified.
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT or MLS) through ASCP or AMT is preferred.
