PRN Mammography Technologist

About the role

The PRN Mammography Technologist provides on‑demand mammography services at Euclid Hospital, supporting the Diagnostic Radiology department. Working under physician direction, the technologist ensures high‑quality breast imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment, position patients, and adjust exposure factors to obtain diagnostic‑quality images.
• Review and evaluate images on the video display, adjusting density or contrast as needed.
• Archive, transmit, and print images using CAD and PACS, and complete after‑hours transmission and paperwork.
• Report equipment malfunctions, perform routine checks, and assist with calibration and quality‑assurance records.
• Educate patients about the procedure, ensure their safety and comfort, and assist with linen and supply management.
• Process billing through RIS and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations (ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA).

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT‑certified Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R)) in good standing.
• ARRT Mammography certification (R.T.(M)).
• Current state licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of at least 40 hours of mammography training.

Required skills

• Operation of mammography units and radiation safety protocols.
• Proficiency with CAD, PACS, and RIS imaging software.
• Knowledge of equipment calibration, quality‑assurance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
