PRN Gastroenterology Hospitalist Physician

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a PRN physician for its gastroenterology hospitalist position. The role combines office visits with hospital rounds, and is open to both new graduates and experienced physicians.

Key responsibilities

• See patients in the office and participate in hospital rounds
• Maintain timely, accurate and detailed medical records in the office-based EMR, E Clinical Works (ECW)
• Prescribe medication or therapy when necessary and recommend lifestyle changes
• Explain procedures and test results thoroughly and give patients a plan of care
• Consult with other doctors about each patient's needs
• Take part in tumor boards and multi-disciplinary clinics
• Serve on the hospital Medical Staff and related committees when requested
• Work on improving patient satisfaction scores and team goals, and take part in business development and marketing

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
• Knowledge of computer systems such as ECW and Cerner
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment, lifting and moving patients and equipment (up to 40 lbs pushing/pulling, 50 lbs carrying/lifting)
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of professional license or certification
