About the role
The Digital Acceleration organization at Amazon powers e‑commerce for digital content and subscriptions such as Kindle, Audible, Prime Video and Amazon Music Unlimited. As a Principal Software Engineer you will lead technical strategy and delivery for catalog, pricing and promotions services that handle hundreds of millions of transactions each month.
Key responsibilities
- Define the North Star architecture and technical strategy across 30+ services to simplify and scale the digital catalog and pricing platform.
- Lead automation of business processes, enhance machine‑learning infrastructure, and apply generative AI to audit and improve catalog and pricing decisions.
- Mentor and develop engineers and applied‑science staff, influencing multiple teams to increase productivity.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of software development experience building large‑scale distributed systems.
- Proven leadership in large‑scale software projects and automation initiatives.
Required skills
- Java, Python, or C++ programming.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Machine‑learning and generative‑AI concepts applied to production systems.
