Principal Scientist – Oral Formulation Sciences

About the role

Our Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Supply (PSCS) organization translates molecules into medicines by designing, developing and scaling‑up oral drug products. The Principal Scientist will lead CMC project teams and drive formulation development of new chemical entities from first‑in‑human through market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative oral formulations (suspensions, solutions, capsules, tablets) and define robust manufacturing processes.
• Mentor technical staff and coordinate matrix‑team activities across chemistry, analytical and physical characterization groups.
• Drive technology strategy, evaluate new drug‑delivery technologies and build capabilities within the organization.
• Oversee external manufacturing sites, scale‑up activities and release of clinical supplies.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with ≥8 years industry experience (or equivalent M.S. or B.S. with longer experience).
• Proven ability to lead complex formulation projects and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong track record of scientific innovation, publications, patents and technical leadership.
