About the role

Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, is hiring a Principal in its Retail and Quotient practice within the Consumer, Telco and Technology (CTT) group. The role suits highly motivated professionals with significant prior experience, offering strong career and growth opportunities. It is based in Boston, with similar openings in Chicago, New York and Dallas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and parts of the client relationship and commercial process, working with Partners and sharing responsibility for the success of specific engagements.
• Lead and manage complex programs to meet agreed goals on time, using Oliver Wyman best practices, own expertise and the firm's technical competence.
• Guide and influence clients and act as a trusted advisor, including executing the commercial process.
• Identify new and expanded business opportunities and build business.
• Contribute thought leadership and share knowledge across adjacent topics.
• Develop others and build a followership, and lead firm-building activities.
• Serve as a role model for firm values and maintain a strong personal brand, well regarded by Partners, peers and clients.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting and/or in the communications, media and technology industry.
• Strong conceptual problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Track record of leading teams and delivering under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization; no sponsorship offered.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Machine learning, data science and AI/genAI capabilities preferred.
