Principal Product Manager, Consumer Products

About the role

Ethos Life, a life insurance technology company, is looking for a seasoned product manager to join its Consumer Product team. The team builds a digital consumer experience covering onboarding, identifying family needs and purchasing the right insurance products. The role suits an entrepreneurial product leader who advocates for users and drives business growth, with major stakeholders based in the San Francisco office.

Key responsibilities

• Build experiences for millions of online insurance shoppers, owning the user journey from the top of the funnel to purchase.
• Use consumer insights and data to improve user experience and conversion rates.
• Educate consumers on the need for life insurance and help them choose the right coverage.
• Remove friction and motivate users to complete applications.
• Launch new products such as Indexed Universal Life and Whole Life.
• Deliver an end-to-end experience anchored on accessibility, delight and simplicity.

Required profile

• 10+ years of total experience in the technology industry.
• 5+ years as a product manager in a high-growth technology company, building products that reach millions of consumers.
• Ability to turn ideas into actionable plans and designs, using rapid prototyping and feedback-driven iteration.
• Strong analytical orientation, data-driven decision making and a track record of solving hard customer problems and driving growth.
• High degree of ownership and autonomy, working cross-functionally with engineering and design.

Required skills

• Basic self-serve analytics with SQL and Amplitude (a plus).
• Product analytics for complex analysis (a plus).

The US base salary range is $147,000 - $293,000, depending on location and experience; the range covers all US locations and does not include bonus, equity or benefits. Remote candidates may be considered.
