Principal Product Analyst

About the role

Ethos, a life insurance technology company, is hiring a Principal Product Analyst for a remote US position. This is a senior, highly influential role focused on judgment, strategic impact and deep analytical craft: identifying the highest-leverage questions, spotting opportunities the business has not seen, and bringing clear recommendations to product and leadership. The role works closely with product, design, engineering and executive leadership, and involves training AI systems on what good analysis looks like and reviewing their output.

Key responsibilities

• Identify the highest-leverage questions, build the frameworks to answer them and bring clear recommendations to product and leadership.
• Build a deep model of customer behavior, drivers of conversion and retention, and growth opportunities, shaping both long-term roadmap bets and weekly product review decisions.
• Own experiment strategy across product areas: design, guardrails, interpretation and cross-experiment patterns.
• Validate, sharpen and train AI-generated draft analyses, keeping human judgment central.
• Connect patterns and opportunity-sizing insights across product areas, experiments and data sources to shift how leadership thinks about growth.
• Raise the bar for the team on how AI and analytical rigor work together.

Required profile

• 8+ years of product analytics experience in consumer-facing, high-growth environments.
• Ability to frame questions and deliver insights quickly, changing what gets built rather than just reporting what shipped.
• Deep expertise in experiment design, causal inference and power analysis, with a clear-eyed view of where AI accelerates and where human judgment is essential.
• Clear writing and presentation, able to engage executives and data engineers.

Required skills

• Modern analytics stack: Snowflake, dbt, Amplitude, Hex, Mode.
• Strong SQL foundations for reasoning through data logic and validating AI-generated output.

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000 - $260,000; the range shown applies to all US locations and reflects base salary only.
