Prevailing Wage Porter (Lumen)

About the role

The Prevailing Wage Porter supports the physical upkeep of Greystar’s residential community in Long Island City, ensuring that grounds, amenities and overall curb appeal meet the company’s standards. The role works closely with the service team and community manager across three possible shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect common areas throughout the day, removing litter, debris and pet droppings to keep the community clean.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments, transport it to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Perform minor service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to property policy and verify that pool gates and other safety features operate correctly.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions and address maintenance‑related complaints.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings and complete required OSHA training.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work one of the three full‑time shift patterns (overnight, day or evening).
• Strong attention to safety and ability to report incidents.
