Predictive Analytics Analyst II (Actuarial)

About the role

Farmers Insurance, one of the largest U.S. insurers, is hiring a Predictive Analytics Analyst (early career) for a newly formed team focused on faster, more accurate and forward-looking financial decision-making across Finance. The team combines trusted data, advanced analytics, automation and AI-driven insights, and the role sits in a function being built from the ground up with direct exposure to senior leadership, including the CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of predictive analytics to support key business decisions
• Apply statistical and analytical techniques to build models and generate actionable insights
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes and data transformations
• Extract, prepare and integrate data across multiple sources, ensuring quality and reliability
• Use SQL and programming tools (Python, R) to analyze large datasets
• Evaluate model performance and help optimize them
• Design reports and visualizations to communicate insights and track metrics
• Run ad-hoc analyses and partner with business stakeholders, communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Build an understanding of finance and insurance data domains (pricing, underwriting, claims)

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, predictive analytics or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar); Master's degree is a plus
• Insurance background strongly preferred, actuarial knowledge or qualification a plus
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Required skills

• Advanced SQL and ETL and data pipeline development
• Intermediate Python and/or R
• Understanding of predictive modeling and statistical analysis
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake is a plus
