Precision Measurement Technician – 2nd Shift

About the role

Join Johnson Controls Federal Systems as a Precision Measurement Technician on the 2nd shift at the York, PA plant supporting Navy Systems. You will perform non‑destructive testing, operate and program coordinate measuring machines, and ensure the accuracy of precision gauges and related tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify and execute dye penetrant and magnetic particle non‑destructive examinations.
• Set up, program, and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for dimensional inspection.
• Adjust, calibrate, certify, and date measurement instruments and precision gauges.
• Audit and verify tooling, fixtures, production operations, and government‑regulated packaging and shipping processes.
• Perform surface plate, optical comparator setups and hardness testing.
• Maintain records, generate purchase requisitions, and produce quality check documentation.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of manufacturing experience with hands‑on precision measurement work.
• Ability to work continuously with light to average weight materials and perform detailed visual inspections.
• Strong analytical ability for statistical process control (SPC) and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Good safety awareness and ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes and material‑handling hazards.
