Pre Analytics Processing Technician II

About the role

The Pre Analytics Processing Technician II works the night shift on Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus, handling laboratory specimens, performing quality assurance, and maintaining equipment. This position supports the Lab Central Processing department and contributes to the clinic’s high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and accession specimens into the Lab Information System (LIS).
• Prepare specimens for analysis, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and routine equipment maintenance.
• Perform manual processing, troubleshoot issues, and resolve specimen‑related problems.
• Monitor compliance with temperature regulations and conduct QA activities such as pending log audits.
• Retrieve, sort, track, and deliver specimens while verifying receipts.
• Handle basic clerical tasks, including answering phones.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of laboratory experience.
• Associate’s degree in a science‑related field (may substitute for experience).
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb, and handle bio‑hazardous materials.
