Postdoctoral Researcher – Human Performance

About the role

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Human Performance Optimization Laboratory. The fellow will engage in clinical and translational research focused on skeletal muscle function under extreme physiological and cognitive stress.

Key responsibilities

• Develop evidence‑based strategies to optimize health and performance for high‑demand populations such as astronauts, military personnel, and first responders.
• Design, implement, and manage clinical trials related to nutrition, exercise physiology, pharmacology, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct rigorous data analysis and critically evaluate scientific literature.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Center’s research portfolio.

Required profile

• Postdoctoral‑level researcher with a strong interest in human performance and clinical translation.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to a newly established research center.
