Postdoctoral Researcher – Behavior Technology Lab (Health, Performance & Resilience)

About the role

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Behavior Technology Laboratory focused on health, performance, and resilience. The lab develops evidence‑based behavioral interventions and technology‑enabled tools for high‑performance populations such as NCAA athletes, elite athletes, U.S. military personnel, and youth athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate behavioral interventions targeting psychological resilience, mental health, body image, disordered eating, performance under pressure, sleep, nutrition, and related health behaviors.
• Develop and test technology platforms, including smartphone applications and digital tools, for scalable delivery of interventions.
• Conduct community‑based and field research with athletes, military families, and other target groups.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate findings into practical tools for athletic, military, school, and healthcare settings.
• Provide clinical services and support to athletes and individuals participating in the research.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in psychology, behavioral science, public health, or a related field.
• Experience in designing and evaluating behavioral interventions.
• Familiarity with high‑performance or athletic populations is preferred.
• Strong analytical and scientific writing skills.

Required skills

• Research design and statistical analysis.
• Experience with digital health technologies or mobile application development.
• Knowledge of health behavior theory and implementation science.
