Postdoctoral Researcher – Advanced Materials for Renewable Energy

About the role

The Department of Physics at Prairie View A&M University seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct experimental research on advanced materials, focusing on magnetic, optoelectronic, and thermoelectric properties and integrating machine‑learning analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research on novel materials with emphasis on magnetic, optoelectronic, and thermoelectric measurements.
• Develop and optimize advanced characterization techniques.
• Apply machine‑learning models to analyze data and predict material behavior.
• Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and interdisciplinary researchers.
• Contribute to research papers, grant proposals, and conference presentations.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or related field earned within the past three years.
• Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling applied to material science.
• Strong background in magnetic, optoelectronic, and thermoelectric measurements.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
