Postdoctoral Research Associate – Cotton Jassid IPM

About the role
The Texas A&M AgriLife Research team is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead integrated pest management (IPM) efforts for cotton jassid. The role focuses on developing microbial control strategies, evaluating their compatibility with natural enemies, and supporting AI‑assisted pest monitoring technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate microbial insecticides for cotton jassid management.
- Assess compatibility between microbial agents and generalist predators.
- Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field efficacy trials.
- Collaborate on AI‑driven pest monitoring technology development.
- Publish research findings and present at scientific conferences and extension events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree in entomology, plant pathology, or a related field.
- Experience in biological control and integrated pest management.
- Proficiency with molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, primer design, PCR, and molecular diagnostics.
- Knowledge of entomopathogenic fungi, nematodes, and microbial insecticide delivery systems.
- Familiarity with molecular trophic interaction analysis, genomics, bioinformatics, or next‑generation sequencing.
- Experience in grant writing and proposal development.
- Understanding of controlled‑environment agriculture systems.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and collaborative abilities.
