About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Research Department is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Naseer Sangwan Lab. This full‑time, fixed‑term position provides practical training in microbiome, host‑microbiome interactions, immunology, and cancer signaling pathways.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and execute independent research projects, generate and analyze data, and prepare manuscripts.
  • Manage mouse breeding colonies and perform surgical tissue collection.
  • Develop and extend organoid cultures.
  • Conduct nucleic acid extraction and a variety of molecular assays.

Required profile

  • PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (MD with relevant lab experience may substitute for PhD).
  • Demonstrated commitment to research, collaborative work ethic, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a research or academic setting, including scientific writing.

Required skills

  • Mouse handling and surgical techniques.
  • Organoid culture and development.
  • Nucleic acid extraction and molecular assay execution.
