Postdoctoral Fellow – Genomics and Computational Biology

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic’s Hu Lab seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct NIH‑funded research on single‑cell chromatin organization, gene regulation, and disease. The position provides practical training in a collaborative research environment under the supervision of Principal Investigator Ming Hu.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent projects, including data generation, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation.
• Develop statistical and computational methods for high‑dimensional genomics data and study chromatin spatial organization at single‑cell resolution.
• Integrate multi‑omics and functional genomics data to investigate gene regulation and disease mechanisms.
• Collaborate across disciplines, present findings, and contribute to grant‑related activities.

Required profile

• PhD (or MD/PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong statistical modeling, computational method development, and scientific programming skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Previous research experience, including scientific writing and graduate‑level work.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R and Python (or Perl) within Unix/Linux environments.
• Statistical and computational analysis of high‑dimensional genomics data.
• Experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning applied to large‑scale biological datasets (preferred).
• Knowledge of biology, genetics, or genomics (preferred).
