Porter – Community Maintenance (Prevailing Wage)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a reliable Porter to maintain the physical appearance and safety of its residential community in Long Island City. The role involves daily inspections, trash removal, lock changes, and resident communication across three possible shift schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect common areas throughout the day, removing litter, debris, and pet droppings to keep the community tidy.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments, transport it to dumpsters or storage, and maintain storage areas.
• Perform minor service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to property policy and ensure pool gates operate safely and meet code requirements.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions, and address maintenance‑related complaints.
• Participate in safety meetings, complete required OSHA training, and report accidents or incidents accurately.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work one of the three full‑time shift patterns (overnight, day, or evening) and be off on designated days.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining community standards.
