Porter – Community Maintenance (Multiple Shifts)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a dedicated Porter to maintain the physical appearance and safety of its residential community in Long Island City. The role supports the service team, ensures common areas are clean and attractive, and works across three full‑time shift options.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day, removing litter, debris, and pet droppings to keep all common areas and amenities tidy.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process, transport waste to dumpsters or storage areas, and maintain those storage spaces.
• Complete minor and routine service requests assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to property policy and verify that pool‑area gates operate safely and meet code requirements.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report any hazards or potentially dangerous situations to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions, and address maintenance‑related complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend routine safety meetings, complete required OSHA training, and report accidents accurately.

Required profile

• Ability to work one of the three available full‑time shifts (overnight, day, or evening) with designated days off.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents and team members.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and attend required training sessions.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license.
