POM Security Flex Officer - Overnight

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time POM Security Flex Officer for overnight shifts in Miami, Florida. The officer serves and safeguards clients and gains hands-on site experience across various industries. Irregular shifts with little to no advance notice may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping required written logs
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience; no prior experience required
• At least 18 years old (21 if armed); licensing may be required before employment
• Valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Subject to background investigation and drug screening
• Preferred: state, county or city issued security license, access control/badge experience, computer or tablet use, customer service experience, x-ray screening experience, and TWIC

Required skills

• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Effective oral and written communication, active listening and problem solving
• Ability to mediate conflict and work as a team
