PIR Case Management Specialist

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a solutions‑driven Case Management Specialist to provide trauma‑informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, supporting their resettlement and self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide case management across two funding streams (≈70% PIR, ≈30% Home ARP), ensuring compliance with program requirements.
• Coordinate pre‑ and post‑arrival services, including airport pick‑up, housing, food, medical care, transportation, and orientation.
• Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized self‑sufficiency plans with SMART goals, and deliver direct financial assistance, public benefits applications, and referrals.
• Maintain at least one meaningful client interaction every 30 days, track progress, and document all activities in the IRC case system (ETO).
• Build and maintain relationships with community service providers, landlords, and partner organizations; travel using a personal insured vehicle as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• 1‑3 years of experience in an administrative or case‑management role, preferably with refugee/immigrant populations.
• Strong relationship‑building, diplomacy, and networking abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal insured vehicle.
• Commitment to anti‑racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience using case documentation databases (e.g., ETO).
• English fluency (spoken and written); additional language skills such as Marshallese or Spanish are a plus.
