About the role
The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks outstanding researchers for open‑rank faculty positions (Assistant, Associate, or Professor). The role combines cutting‑edge research, teaching, and mentorship within a vibrant academic community in Miami, Florida.
Key responsibilities
- Design, execute, and publish innovative research in modern physiology and biophysics.
- Develop and maintain an independent research program, securing extramural funding.
- Teach and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical trainees.
- Contribute to departmental service and the broader scientific community.
- Present findings at national and international conferences.
Required profile
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
- Junior candidates: minimum three years of postdoctoral experience; senior candidates: established research record.
- Demonstrated commitment to scientific excellence and ability to obtain external funding.
- Experience in establishing and managing an independent research group.
