Physician Specialist - Psychiatry (Option D)

About the role

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is hiring a Physician Specialist Option D for the Elgin Mental Health Center in Elgin, Illinois. The position is filled by a psychiatrist who spends 80% or more of working time in psychiatry and the remaining time performing general physician duties such as examinations, diagnosis, observation and treatment. It is a full-time, salaried position in Kane County, Illinois.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric diagnosis on the treatment unit.
• Assist or coordinate treatment planning for various types of patients.
• Serve as consultant to other non-psychiatric physicians and professional staff on the unit regarding patient progress and medical care.
• Perform general physician duties for the balance of work time, including medical examinations, diagnosis, observations and treatment.

Required profile

• Special license to practice medicine in Illinois, in Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the State does not sponsor employment visas or extend OPT for F-1 students.
• Bilingual skills are welcome; bilingual option listed as none.

What we offer

• Anticipated salary of $18,908 to $26,486 per month ($226,896 to $317,832 per year).
